Panoramic views of the East River, Midtown, and Brooklyn

Today, I’m sharing insights for our first property, One Manhattan Square, starting with the surrounding amenities.

As a refresher, OMS is an 80-story luxury condo located at 252 South Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side waterfront with panoramic views of the East River, Midtown, and Brooklyn.

Before the numeric deep dive, here’s what residents can find nearby:

Groceries

Brooklyn Fare is in the building—a 25,000+ sq ft full-service market. For the price-conscious and snackfood-sensitive, Trader Joe’s is a 10-minute walk, along with MetroAcres and the soon-to-open Lidl.

Schools & Daycare

The building is in NYC District 1, with local schools including PS 110 (Florence Nightingale), PS 184 (Shuang Wen), and PS 134 (Henrietta Szold). Several daycares are <1 mile.

Worship

A diverse mix of churches and synagogues nearby—mostly within a 10-min walk.

Pharmacies

Local pharmacies are clustered along Grand and East Broadway, including CVS. (Get to that CVS early, though, as it could take you 30 minutes to get a script filled.)

Hospitals

NYU Langone, Bellevue, and NY-Presbyterian are all within ~1 mile.

Transit Access

The F train (East Broadway) is 3 blocks away, with the B/D/J/Z lines, M9/M14 buses, and the NYC Ferry nearby. There’s also Citibike access directly outside.

Pizza

Plenty of pizza options nearby, with the best slice found at Grand Street Pizza or Scarr’s.

Right now, residents can also enjoy construction noise, traffic congestion, and frustrated drivers from the East Side Coastal Resiliency project which is approaching its sixth year of (visible) work. It remains to be seen how long the area near One Manhattan Square, which is directly across from where construction vehicles are housed, will be affected.

What about the numbers? What, I can’t hear you over the pneumatic drill tearing up the road!? More to come when the jackhammer relents.
