2026 World Cup Special

Over the past few days, my newsfeed has read as follows:
Knicks in 4 – Iran War – Mamdani’s Block-by-Block – Co-op elections – SpaceX IPO – Bye, Spencer Pratt – A Bee Swarm? – 60 Minutes – Toy Story 5 – Wu’s Wonton King – Knicks in 7.
So, yesterday morning, when I woke up to a World Cup Preview on my favorite podcast, I suddenly remembered: the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off tomorrow!
To be clear, I’m only being facetious, as I’m an avid follower of the game and I even used to work within the game. One example: in 2010, I directed a monthlong World Cup activation in NoHo called PlayBeautiful.
The experience included an indoor match-viewing stadium, a mini practice pitch, a video game zone, a cantina, and a retail store. Before that, I hosted the first panel discussion on Twitter called Tweet! Blowing the Whistle on Social Media at Major League Soccer headquarters. But lest I digress, the question stands:
Why a World Cup special, and admittedly one with little to do with real estate?
More than 15 years on from my own unsanctioned — but amazing — activation zone, I’m leaving the pop-ups to the folks at Good Thanks, the NYPL, and to businesses that want to navigate the murky waters of rights-holding. I’m focused on wholesome bonding and match-viewing with my family, mostly away from the $2,500 seats at MetLife Stadium.
But I’m also taking an opportunity to give something to you, dear reader, that underscores the whole purpose of More For LES.
Today, I am sharing a new, relevant, easy-to-use, and very practical tool built by More For LES.
This “tool” is a digital calendar that you can add with two clicks, and it will give you visibility into all 104 World Cup matches happening between today and the final on July 19. It’s free, you can add it, use it, share it, and even remove it.
I came up with it for my own purposes because, frankly, there are so many matches — I mean, m’gosh, there are 48 teams!
Here’s the relevance, i.e., the reason why we’ve published a World Cup special.
More For LES exists to provide high-quality, high-fidelity service — and tools — that help you to buy, sell, and invest in real estate on New York’s Lower East Side. Through every interaction and transaction, More For LES is examining how to make the experience of everything behind real estate — living and working with meaning and purpose — better.
Just as we are working tirelessly to remove the strain and stress from real estate transactions, we are looking at how to remove friction and help our clients to get the most out of life. Though just a simple tool, this calendar will keep you informed, prepared, and positioned to enjoy one of life’s great spectacles.
