An oversold moonshot but still a massive launch

It’s time for something big.

BIG.

Not the Pied-à-Terre Tax. Not quite as big as Mắm nearly cracking the Top 25 of the NY Times Best Restaurants in New York. Definitely not as big as the New York Knicks making the NBA Finals.

But, still big. Remarkable, even.

Nearly 50 weeks ago, I launched a new project. It was called View From The Top, a series of observations about Lower East Side real estate and culture. As it started to take hold, I came to realize that the concept was on-target. However, the name didn’t fit.

The viewpoint was not one from above looking down from a vaunted Manhattan skyscraper. It was mine, as a licensed real estate salesperson and resident of the Lower East Side, looking out my window, across Grand Street, into the courtyard of Amalgamated, and peering through a cloudy pint glass at Saluggi’s.

My writing focused on my community in 10002, the infusion — and often intrusion — of new property developments, of a neighborhood in transition, of my observations and interactions, namely in and around real estate transactions.

I started with Substack, a cost-effective platform that gave me freedom, presence, distribution, and something to point to and say, “More For LES is a real thing.”

As the subscriber base increased, the need for resources and tools to address reader and client questions increased. This included everything from research papers like 20 Years, 4 Co-ops, & 10002 to guides like The A.C.T.I.O.N. Framework to We Found the Apartment! Now What?

Moreover, people in and around my community began asking questions — some repeatedly — about how to find trusted providers for architectural, electrical, plumbing, and all types of services. So, I built NYC Service Pro, a by-recommendation-only directory of reliable service providers, segmented by neighborhood.

And that’s not all: there are two additional (and robust) tools in the making that have yet to be launched, and these are not the “big somethings.”

Nope.

It’s this: More For LES now has its own web presence at MoreForLES.com.

Created with the help of my terrific friends at Five Four, a strategic band of comrades, soloists, and creatives, More For LES now has a digital home, here on the Lower East Side, accessible from anywhere on earth. (Or, most places.)

This site tells our story, that of More For LES itself, and how I — as a licensed real estate salesperson and resident of 10002 — fit into it. Further, it serves as a launching pad for visitors to access valuable information, including tools and resources, that will help them:
